The annual Friends of the Jefferson Public Library used book sale will begin Friday, Sept. 17, at 1 pm in the library basement. The library will stay open until 6 pm for the first day of the sale.
Friday is open for Friends members only. Memberships may be purchased at the door for a cost of $5 for individual and $10 for family.
The sale features books for all ages in addition to DVD movies, music CDs, audio books, board games, and jigsaw puzzles. Materials at the sale have been donated or withdrawn from the library’s collection.
Beginning Saturday, Sept. 18, the sale is open to the public free of charge. The first Saturday will also have extended hours from 9 am. to 3 pm.
The rest of the week, beginning Sept. 20, the hours of the sale are consistent with the library hours except the sale will conclude at 6 pm each evening and at 5 pm on Friday, Sept. 24.
Bargain Day, Saturday, Sept. 25, is the final day of the sale with more details to come.
The fall sale is the major fundraiser for the Friends of the Library. “Come in and support your local library,” a spokesperson said.
